Excellent Adventures in Real Estate

BACKGROUND

I was educated in the unusual combination of biochemistry and law before embarking upon a business career that evolved from financial services through a brief spell in provincial regulation into high-technology. The latter culminated in my founding Web Link Medical, Inc.,a pioneer in the use of the Internet in diagnostic medical imaging. While all this was happening I was also a keen actor/singer, supporter of theatre, husband, and father of two sons.

As a child I was timid and shy. To some extent acting has helped me to overcome these traits. However, I was brought up in what the Monty Python crew call "The Third World;" one in which children were "seen and not heard." Throughout my business career I have been forced to stand up and talk in front of small and large gatherings and, although I have failed to notice, I am told that I am no longer a child. These days I still have the rather debilitating tendancy (for a salesperson) to speak only when spoken to or when explicitly invited to do so. Those who have invited me to speak include Siemens Medical Systems (USA), Sun Microsystems (USA), and Mitsui & Company(JAPAN).

Today I share my time between my wife, and my real estate and acting careers. As I write this page I am sitting in the Royal LePage Burloak Real Estate kiosk in the Appleby Mall. Tomorrow I shall be hosting an open house, and the following two days I shall be on the set of the TV series, "Murdoch Mysteries."
